This year's honoree is Garry Hynes, Tony Award Winner and founder, Druid Theatre. Previous honorees include President Bill Clinton, Dr Loretta Brennan Glucksmann and Paul Brady. This event has a well-established reputation for entertainment and networking amongst both the NUI Galway and wider Irish American communities in New York City. When completed in winter 2015, the new Centre will provide a state of the art facility for Drama, Theatre and Performance at the heart of the NUI Galway campus. The Centre will stage an annual series of productions by NUI Galway students and visiting theatre companies, and will be the home of the Druid Academy, an exciting partnership between Druid and NUI Galway that aims to train the next generation of Irish theatre professionals.
